HELLENIC TRAIN, a member of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (FS) Group, the third largest railway company in Europe, cooperates with SEGAS and participates for one more year, in the 39th Authentic Marathon of Athens, showing in practice its support for the celebration of the greatest classic sports event of global scope.

Specifically, HELLENIC TRAIN, as a state partner of the event, offers a 50% discount to all runners either from abroad or from other cities in Greece, who will choose the train for their transport to Athens, exclusively on the occasion of their participation in the 39th Authentic Marathon of Athens 2022, for the period 10 – 14 November 2022. The offer includes the use of all HELLENIC TRAIN trains, including the new ETR trains and the Airport line.

The CEO of HELLENIC TRAIN, Mr. Maurizio Capotorto said: "This year, more than before, we are particularly happy that our cooperation with SEGAS is not only aimed at promoting the sense of "fair play" through the organization of a top sports event, such as the Athens Marathon. At the same time, we are given the opportunity to participate in the effort launched by SEGAS to "green" the Marathon. Knowing that the train is the “greenest” travel option, HELLENIC TRAIN through a series of actions that among others, include the renewal of its fleet which already started with the new ETR470 electric trains on the Athens – Thessaloniki route, contributes to the environmental protection, aiming for the sustainable mobility and the reducing of
the environmental footprint.”
